Retro TV Felix the Cat

This video is part of an ongoing project to build a retrospective TV archive made exclusively for the LL community on my Retro TV channel at

Felix the Cat animated cartoons were quite different from the comic strips of Otto Messmer. When Messmer retired his assistant Joe Oriolo took over. He made this version of the cartoon in a deal with King Features syndicate and Paramount Studios, they kicked out about 260 episodes starting in 1958.

There are over a 100 episodes you can catch over at Netflix. Or they have a respectable Golden anniversary edition available on DVD.

  • Wow, takes me back! I remember my sister lent me her pencil case to use as a GI Joe body bag. Good times.

  • Takes me back too. GI-Joe. Playing with those military toys and as a small child not knowing the impact of Vietnam war, was which going on at the same time, quite ironic.
