Hah. It's gotta be just a sliver, a little lump of cells, and it probably only works for a very short while as the cells die.
The next step will be using a complete rat brain, and that will happen soon enough as synthetic blood replacements are becoming more and more viable. They'll figure out how to keep the brain going longer and longer.
And then they'll try a primate brain...
And it's a logical progression from there.

I wonder if this works in reverse, if they could implant a computer brain to control the rat body? Maybe even a remote controlled rat with programed actions like robosapien? hehe That could lead to some neat little spy animals.

The day will come when they combine these intelligent robots with the remote control military robots. When they do that they will have created the perfect soldiers and police to enforce the will of government on people. This just brings it one step closer.

this is dangerous stuff...and imagine it came out to the public just now. I remember...the first time a F117 was used, was in the Golf War...but the military had had it sice the '70s (1979 I think)

This guy I know who has a Phd. in Bio-Chemistry tells me that scientists have already developed a drug that can increase the human life span times four, and that it is in trials right now.
Apparently the crucial discovery came from knowledge accumulated in dog breeding, of all things. He said that breeders have know for a long time that if you feed dogs just more than they need to survive they live longer. Scientists have figured out what the process is and why it works and they've created More..

I've heard it has to do with something akin to the existence of cell replication counter clocks in our bio chemistry, simply put, there's a built in number of times our cells will replicate themselves before they die off -- restricting caloric intake to slightly above a starvation diet level slows this process down dramatically, apparently. The reverse is true too. Over eating speeds the process up just as dramatically.
This would explain the lack of very old fat people.
I'd heard this experimen More..
