another classic from the British Transport Library, made in 1957 A Future on Rail.
made as a Recruitment film and to portray the end of the old way of doing things in the Steam Age and heralding the new clean age of Electric and Diesel Age rail travel. the people who made these films were masters of the craft.
please note; this is heavy duty 'old rail related history', if it's not your idea of fun you best this this a miss, it's probably not for you, sorry. But, for fans of the genre get a load of this beaut from 1957!

While England and the rest of Europe were planning on a future for passenger-rail service here in America the big money was planning on its' almost total destruction. Now a large portion of the rights of way have been completely lost forever. Damn there American eyes! LOL
