Here's your problem...In my home I was raised by my mom. She was the one who instilled her values on me, not society. If you let outside influences mold you or your children then it's you (not you personaly) who are weak. thats what the western world is really ablut, haveing the right to raise your kids how you want to. sometimes that will jive w/ the government, or whats socialy allowed, and sometiimes it won't. If you want your children be live a particular way then raise them that way, and explain your views. don't depend on the government or religious leaders to do the job.

I'm not going to argue with you and yes it does come down to parenting skills, but the western cultures enforces the public using media and many other tools to corrupt the family values within a house. For example, movies..cartoons...shows were more family oriented but not anymore. Kids now days are exposed to more what adults were 50 years ago.
How many families are going to be able to have the time to direct thier kids if they're involved in debt and working 2 jobs? they depend on the system and the system acts against them only to make more diffrences within people for revenue purposes.
You'll have to look at it from outside the box to be able to see how the western system really works.

My sisters have grown up into decent women, in ocntrol of their lives ect ect.
Im happily married myself and consider myself a decent person. And I thank god/the gods (whatever) Im western and have western values, and that I was not born or raised in another part of the world.
You do have a point that their IS a risk of children being exposed to much sex and violence at an early age, but with proper parenting this is really a non issue.
No system is perfect. Of course, Im fully aware of social failing. But when I look at other countries, and the.. wel quite frankly barabic and primative behaviour of other systems Im convinced the western model is stronger.
fair enough media is TOO influential here, but in your world its the writings of a long dead warlord and the preachings of bandit thugs that is influential.
For example, I know of know women here who are arrested and charged after being raped. A women would never be sold into a marriage by her family here (not by westerners), slavery is illegal and people are free to be themselves. Words like "heretic" and "apostate" are archiac and unimportant here. I here could convert to Islam then revert back to Atheism and fear no repercussions. If a bearded loon demands me to pick up a rifle and go to war against people for being free I can laugh and take the piss. My daughters (should I be blessed with them) will be free to grow up and be treated as equals with their brothers with. A muslim woman here can wear a burka OR a head scarf OR let her hair hang free and fear no stigma from westerners and she is protected by law.
I look at other sytems and non seem as good as this. The Islamic/Arabic system catapults would catapult us back to the 14th century. The African system is tribal. Socialism and communism has failed, so has facism. Even China is starting to embrace western principles in order to grow into something better than it is.

Then lets look at the western 'prosperity' and where has gotten us. worshipping materialstic matters, concentrated on less important things. Loosing the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. You probably and many others have kept the family values but many families have fallen victims to the system. The idea here is to save an entire generation not being an indivisualistic about it.
The 'prosperity' you're referring to is based on self worshipping and it would lead to chaos..for example the freedom that has been preached had let to the acceptance what was considered inapproperiate acts I.E gay marrige, lesbians, adultry ect.. not too long ago. so what does that tell you? are we heading in the right path? or we developing ourselves as humans or animals?
You may see it as an act of freedom now, but it would affect the next generation and the next and the next if not stopped. To the point where cultural values would be lost and we'll be as barbaric and ignorant to facts that once were considered values.
The western system acts as a savior to all the other cultres where when there is no or little candy in the west you get everything and more than what you can afford....too much of everything is no good. It well estabilished principal based on experience.
The other cultures preventing things that the west accepts isnt based on human hatred or slavery but as protection for your own good.
