I took these pics the other night (4/2/12) using my C8 and my Samsung Instinct phone 5mp camera. My setup is a Celestron C8 on a CG-5 mount.
I was using a 22mm eyepiece, it seemed to work best with the camera. Its a mid power eyepiece, but using higher magnification the image was degraded so I didn't get those shots. I'm trying to figure out how to get better shots with higher magnification.
I tried to get Saturn and Mars but the phone wouldn't pick up detail like I see in the eyepiece. Hopefully I'll get a digital SLR camera sometime in the future and will be able to take some deep sky images as well as planetary.
Not bad for a quick try at photos of the moon I thought. Especially using a crappy phone camera! I'm going to try to get some more images of the moon.. targeting more specific things. (Lunar 100) I'll upload them here if anyone is interested.
