Wali Baghdad, ''Leader of Al-Qaeda in Baghdad'' has been captured and bit the dust
Part of channel(s): Iraq (current event)

The word ''Wali'' in AQ's terminology means the ruler of Baghdad. Manaf Al-Rawi was the head of Al-Qaeda in Baghdad and the ultimate leader and the one responsible for all the violence and attacks in the capital. Including the bombings of several ministries and the famous attack on Church of Our Lady of Deliverance on a Sunday that killed more than 150 worshippers and a number of Iraqi forces who were trying to free the church.

In the footage, a fertilisers shop used by AQ to supply fertilisers used in bombed cars is being discovered and all the fertilisers bags are taken away.

Manaf Al-Rawi's detention and his subsequent execution in 2011 has dealt a great blow to AQ in Iraq and the strength of AQ, both financially and morally, has suffered as a result.
