  • For those interested, I can positively diagnose from observing the casualty having a severe seizure in this video, that this man was suffering from a brain injury which could be caused by swelling of the brain in which you can survive and recover from as long as the pressure from the swelling is kept under control and the swelling does not getter any worse.

The other point for obvious reasons, I cannot tell you whether or not this man survived from his injuries, but there's nothing to say that More..

Try and see that they don't injure themselves, move objects away that they may hit their head on. Don't try and restrain them, but can 'guide' their movements. If after the seizure the person remains unresponsive, try to determine whether a pulse/breathing is present, a seizure often precedes a heart attack and patient will need cpr and if you're able, ventilations and aed. Look for an American Heart Association class near you and take it...!

  • He might have actually lived. He might just be badly KO'd. I hope so anyway. It almost looks like he came off a bike or something by the way he's contorted.

  • Epileptic seizures due to head trauma. Sorry I had to say that it looks like as if he was driving to the light :/

    • @arielcampos I think I had that once. Passed out and fell back and hit my head, all I remember was that I was waking up and my entire body was shaking like hell.

    • @StayPlation Thats exactly it, when I was a kid it happened to me. I got it by a massive chain that snaped while a tractor was pullong a truck out of a mud pit, and the house where i was living at had surveillance cameras and I did the same thing as this fellah... But I'm still alive, no long term effects (that i know of LOL).. But yeah, its from a head trauma

    • @arielcampos Ahahahahahahah :P.. On a sad note, not much of US live after that, its usualy severe and leads to death if not treated well

  • The guy banged his head pretty hard and it shook up his brain pretty bad. Depending on what part of the brain it is will lead to the seizures in this case. If he survived or not can't be said judging by the fact we only see him relax after the contractions, but this kind of injuries frequently happens in boxing, martial arts, K1 fights, etc ... My guess is, he's doing okay apart from a big headache when he wakes up.

  • Yes very serious indeed, looks like a cerebral decortication movement pattern. This suggest the spine and the brain has lost communication and is severed, but its hard to say if it will persist judging from the video since it only shows the seconds after impact. Hope he made it.

  • I've seen people get hit so hard they had a seizure and fully recover. he might have survived.

    • @misterpoopy i agree with you. without knowing his medical history, its hard to say what happened. but ive seen plenty of pedestrian vs car vids, and never seen anything like this before.

  • So... dummy crossing between cars meets idiot driving on the wrong side of the road.

  • by going through first aid training you learn that any type of movement is a good sign after that kind of traumatic injury. Even if its a seizure

    • @DarkMatter I guess that training didn't cover agonal breathing then.

    • @Rational_Surge
I think that you are characterizing these spasms as
Myoclonus. In the case of Myoclonus
      the muscle spasms are random.
These seem more specific, I would be surprised if this was a fatal accident.
I pray the Kazakh medical system could save him.

  • Jaywalking doesn't pay. He was an idiot for doing it. The car that hit him was also driving on the wrong side of the road. He was probably trying to make that left turn before the oncoming traffic got the green light. Also an idiot.

Breaking the rules in traffic will eventually get you. And when it doesn, it won't be fun!

  • It is called posturing. It is a sign of a traumatic brain injury and indicator of how bad the spinal cord was injured. The best thing they can do is protect his airway and DON'T fucking move his spine-course they probably don't know that especially if it is the dumbass driver who hit him. Yeah, it looks like he might have been walking in an unauthorized area, but that car seemed to be going pretty damn fast and crossing a double yellow.

    • @Afro Samurai I don't know the laws in Kazakhstan.. but doesn't it look like that driver was driving on the wrong side of the road? There's cars coming in his opposite direction. I'm way overtired, so I don't even trust my own eyes on this one...

    • @stra Yes, Idiot in the green car, not paying attention, speeding and god knows what else. Id say he was on a scotter though giving the way he was still posturing as such
