@Amusing Yes. And thats why I'm trying to leave. As I'm looking into it, believe it or not, I'm horrified to find that its also not that easy.
Did you know that the US can confiscate up to 50% of your foreign assets if you choose to leave and live abroad and not have anything to do with the US anymore?
I would think renouncing citizenship would be able to block that but I'm not at all sure thats true.
