CLIFTON FORGE, VA (WDBJ/CNN) - A teenager has been charged with murder after police found the body of a woman stuffed in the trunk.
The discovery came after Clifton Forge, VA, police, were alerted by police in Kitty Hawk, NC, to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
A cell phone tower led investigators to Enrico Luciano Mascaro in Clifton Forge, where police found his car in a parking lot.
Authorities were searching for Mascaro and a woman after both went missing from a crime scene in Kitty Hawk, NC.
"They found some stuff at the crime scene, some evidence, that led them to believe that there had been possibly someone injured," said Clifton Forge Police Chief Barry Balser.
When officers approached the vehicle, the suspect was nowhere to be found. Police found a hiding spot nearby and waited there for about an hour.
Officers searched a nearby alley, Mascaro was seen getting in the car. Police found a woman's body in the trunk of his car and Mascaro was arrested.
Investigators from North Carolina have already charged him with murder. Authorities believe he was headed to the Chicago area, where he was originally from.
