My bus ride through the no fire zone

Went to cyprus on holiday last september,took this bus ride through the green line that seperates North Turkish Cyprus,and southern Greek Cyprus.Theres still a lot of hate between the two parties.Turkish paras invaded in the early seventies,1200 Greek Cypriots went missing.This bus drives the green line,Turkish soldiers one side,Cypriots,and U.N on the other.Ive got more film with bunkers,and pill boxes but i cant edit it so this is all i can show.lol

  • So technically is the green line neither side, ?does that mean both sides can use these tour buses For target practice?

    This tour guide is a prick and anyone giving Northern Turkish annexed Cyprus their business is a fucking asshole.

    If you want to see Cyprus visit Greek Cyprus. If you want to dine with Abu Nidal's buddies visit the North.

  • I've patroled this line in Nicosia back in early 2001....Tourists are NOT allowed down it, they may cross it at checkpoints (just like any border) but they are not allowed down the line.

    At one of the checkpoints (called city troop to us brits) is a carpark underneath a shopping centre that still has brand new cars from the day the invasion took place.....

    I have even walked through peoples (abandoned) houses and flats with all their stuff still in....really quite strange

    • @drivenwell2 Actually if you go on tour as UN its shit....midnight curfew, only 2 can rule, can't go to half the places on the island as they are OOB to UN, no chics allowed inside the wire, more rules than you can possibly imagine.....and if you break them expect a huge fine AND to be RTU'd.

      Whats happened over time more and more bullshit led units/RSM's who are bored (they have nothing to do on tour) make up more and more shit.

      And those 3 Green Jacket assholes that killed that tourist years More..

  • I was stationed in Cyprus in the early eighties about when the beirut bomb went of killing all those US marines such a beautiful country and guess what we had a segregated beach officers and families NCOs and families and all the rest i would love to go back to the north have you tried windows movie maker for editing
