  • Tornado alley does not go over as far as florida. Thats just a big cloud going over very common this time of year.

    • No sir. We get plenty Tornadic storms here in Florida. We get fewer of the larger EF-3 and above rated Tornados, but we get roughly the same amount. Many of our tornados spawn off of the many Hurricanes and tropical storms we recieve, however, any large mesocyclonic super cell can contain one of more tornadoes.Every state in the USA experiences tornadoes with the exception of Alaska if my memory serves me correctly.

  • obviously not a weather guru... it isn't tornado alley. It isn't a wall cloud... no funnels today (from this storm anyway). Just a dark cloud...

    • WRONG!! Florida gets more tornado's per square mile than any other state in the union, but the vast majority of them are EF-0's and EF-1's. We don't get very many of the bigger twisters though. In the two years I've been here there have been at least five of them touch down within twenty miles of my house. If you are only interested in seeing a big one then tornado alley would be your best bet. We are also the lightning capital of the US.
