  • She wasn't ripped off, she could have walked away from the deal.

  • Seriously, ripped off. 100-150 bucks is about all it's worth.

  • If you want top dollar, sell it on your own. A pawnshop is NOT the answer.

  • It's not "getting ripped off" if the seller agrees on the price offered.

  • He gave her a hundred bucks for that piece of crap? I wouldn't pay ten dollars for the best Apple ever made. Their products are shit and it's impossible to get software for them.

    • @itbeeasierifyourdead Yeah your 'lawyer' state of mind doesn't always work in the great ol USA where lawyers and faggots like you try to shit all over everyone a handshake in a pawnshop doesn't seal anything you fucking monogloid.

Plus you wouldn't have said shit anyway, you would have took $50, bought Skyrim and pretended it was your real life you cunt.

    • @itbeeasierifyourdead It's pretty hard for your brain to work if you're dead.

What you witness is what's called a "private contract".
And as far as a court is concerned, no contract is "sealed" for 72 hours, as far as I know. Chummly made the deal, his boss doesn't have to honor it. The deal is not made until the paperwork is complete.

If I "here'd"(?) from your "layers", I would probably piss myself from laughing.

    • @CannibalsCookpot A verbal agreement IS a contract. No paperwork required. Never heard of a timeperiod for a contract to be in effect in the law classes I took.

    • @dorbie Ebay is no way to determine the value of something. "auction fever" drives prices beyond "sane"

Years ago was looking to purchase some parts for a handheld, with a GPS "add on pack" The dead handheld was worth maybe $50 in parts then add on sold at that time retail for $295 which included shipping.

By the time the auction dust settled one idiot had paid $575 for the kit and kaboodle.

When informed that it, along with a drunk hooker would be worth $345, a More..

  • When running a computer store in 2000?

I would charge folks $25 to discard these.

$15 for the CRT, and $10 for all the rest of the junk.

She is not getting ripped off if they offered her even a dollar for this.

I would not buy these IIc and Lisa's they are worthless except to a very rare collector. She is very lucky to have gotten a $100..

    • @DemocratWithDerringer I could sell these in my online store all day long for good money. If I found a garage full of old Apple computers at a good price I would buy them all and make a killing.

    • @leadfoot88 The time would be better spent killing all of the Hipster faggots that would buy this piece of shit.

  • people who go to pawn shops and don't expect to get peanuts are fools, everyone else either doesn't care or needs the money.

  • Pawn shops rip people off. What's new here?

    Posted Mar-1-2012 By

  • Just because something is old doesn't mean it is worth money. Maybe if this was year 2112 and that was the last 86' Apple on the planet that worked you might have a better deal, but as some people have already said you don't go to a pawn shop and expect big bucks. You want money? Auction or find a collector.

  • Yep, ripped off as usual. This show should be called "How a Pawn Brokers Rips People Off". This guy is a Supreme Douche Commander First Class. It's not that the computer was really worth any more to him, but on the right market it could have been worth a couple hundred (maybe). The douche part was his little crony threw his hand up and shook the ladies hand with a "Deal!". That means sold asshole.

    • @PyneOil Obviously you've never been in the business of buying and selling things for a living. That's not a rip-off at all. After the pawn shop's overhead, and time it takes for them to sell it, they probably profit 20% total on the purchase. Anyone who says pawn shops rip people off because they don't pay people full retail price for their items, doesn't understand business. How much do you think your favorite restaurant pays for the ingredients they use to make that $10 burger? Do you think W More..

      Posted Mar-1-2012 By

    • @PyneOil Yeah, it does. Chummly should have to pay the lady. Looked like he interupted his boss and made his own deal. Pay the lady and take it to the trailor, Chum.

    • @leadfoot88 -That's exactly why you never sell "collector" type items at a pawn shop. Your level of patients is directly related to the price you can get for an item. My point had more to do with the guy who threw his hand out to make a deal and then rescind his offer, that's all.

For the record, I'm not an idiot and I do know how business works but thanks for the assumption.

but seriously everyone knows these shops wont give you much! ebay prob would have made her heaps concidering everything boxed and manuals! collecotrs dream find!

  • How is that a rip-off? You could probably get $200 for that system on ebay. For a pawn shop to pay someone 50% of what they could sell it online for, is a very fair price.
