New World Darts Championship record 17 perfect darts.
Michael van Gerwen threw the perfect 9 dart leg against his opponent Wade (30-Dec-2012) and almost followed it up with an almost unheard of perfect 18 darter (getting consecutive 501 scores with the lowest possible number of darts thrown) only to miss on the final hurdle by a few millimetres. Never the less its still a new record for the competition of 17 perfect dart, impressive feat.

@EnforcingRat That's exactly why I've taken up competitive target shooting (turns out I'm quite good too!). Yes I smoke and drink excessively, and want to see my lard-ass among the svelt-figured Olympic "heroes" on parade in 2016.

For those of you that may not know, quick run down. They are trying to get a score of 501, but you have to win that set by hitting 501 exactly, not going over. While the bullseye is worth 50, you want to try and aim for a triple 20. There are 2 rings, 1 that is halfway between the bullseye and the edge of the board, and one on the edge. The one on the edge doubles whatever denomination you hit, and the inner circle triples it.
