From videographer Jesse Hoff - "This is footage that I captured in October 2011 while on a trip to
Varanasi, India. The corpse is on the banks of the Ganges River. Its
head is off to the right of the image and was being eaten by the smaller
dog. I was told while there that children under 10 are not cremated
like their elders but put into the river attached to a rock. Our
oarsmen that day said in response to the sight "this is life."

India... the country were they have girls marry dogs to ward off a curse on the crops.. the country were widows are abandoned on the streets by their children as 'useless'... a shithole of a country that still has open sewers but is building aircraft carriers.. a coutnry that has a 'caste' system. a country that allows people to ride on the roofs of trains then express dis-belief when the train crashes and 1000 people die.

I was thinking the same thing. Last time I was there I noticed they also liked to push anybody who died off the side of the road and people would wait around until somebody came and got their remains. Which at times took up to a week that I saw. But its okay because next time around they won't be an 'untouchable' right? Funny how so many never question the statistics of that concept.
