@NUKER-_- Why burn out your expensive brakes when you can just use a parachute? Most cars that do top speed on the texas mile use them INCLUDING european sports cars.

To be honest after all the other fast cars out there I expected it to be faster. There are a few more powerful R32/33/34s out there and some achieve around the AMSs' 1/2 mile speed in a 1/4..
E.g. Reece MacGregors' ride, fastest gtr down a 1/4, from nz.
7.57 @ 190.7mph
1668hp dry sump RB26, single turbo, methanol.
Not so much of a street car though!

@Fred Flintstone AMS does some nice work but yeah it's expensive.
Stock GT-R is under 3 seconds to 60 though and is only 80k USD give or take.
