MIAMI, FL -- Police in south Florida are on the trail of a puppy bandit.

The woman walked into a pet store in Plantation on Monday and asked to see a long-haired Chihuahua.

After looking at the puppy, the woman distracted the clerk, then stuffed the Chihuahua into her shirt and made a quick getaway.

Investigators are hoping the security footage of the brazen dog-napping will help them identify the woman.
