  • It must be amusing for our friends around the world to see how Americans view gun ownership. While there are certainly all sorts of nut-jobs out there, the overwhelming majority of American gun owners are law abiding citizens who take their 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms very much to heart and are very proud of this uniquely American right.

While many gun owners use their firearms for hunting and home/personal protection, many others enjoy collecting fine weapons as well as historica More..

    • @Sir Dingleberry And really, call it a fetish, call it a hobby, call it whatever. Why else you someone own a several dozeon firearms? I know I won't ever, but it doesn't mean I think other people are crazy for it.

According to some people (ok many) it's a topic that should show up on the TV show, "Taboo".

    • @restonva69 glad you appreciate the amusing aspect of that statement. The joke in America is that the greatest salesperson responsible for the largest increase in gun sales is Barrack Obama. Of course our president does not have the power himself to change the laws, but most Americans fear some back handed attempt to limit gun purchases. There is also the view held by many Americans that there will be some apocalyptic event that will cause the breakdown of lawful society that will necessitate pr More..

  • The amount of ignorance and leftist liberal sentiment in the comments for this video is just staggering. And surprise surprise, most of it is coming from countries where the private ownership of firearms is heavily regulated or banned outright. For most of these people, the only exposure to firearms they've ever had was through movies, television, and video games.

I'd like to point out that among all of the 1st world nations in the world, the United States has some of the lowest, if not THE low More..

There is much to admire about the US but violent crime IS about 3x higher in the USA compared to other 1st world countries. Lots of sources on this.

Not to say you're wrong or anything, but America is the 3rd most populated nation in the world. The more people there are, the more opportunities for crimes to be committed. Naturally, crime rates in America will appear inflated compared to other 1st world nations. As far as criminal homicide goes, America is actually pretty low on the list of all the countries in the world.

  • 10-22 LR should be #1, 12 gauge #2, 30.06 or 308 scoped #3, AK-47 or AR-15 or mini 14 #4, then a handgun imo.

  • There's no way "EVERY American" should own all of these guns. I'm a gun owner myself with multiple guns, but there are a lot of people that definitely should not own firearms.

lots of people shouldn't drink either but ironically the constitution protects that too.
Alchohol kills far more each year than guns.
No one calling for prohibition again that I can see.

    • @Theonlydoor There is a difference between being able to and if they should. I have met a lot of people that say themselves that they could never own a gun because they would end up killing their husband or wife or something like that. Also, most people do not want to own guns. I fully support the Second Amendment and think if you feel you need a firearm, the government has no place telling you that you can or you cannot. I hope that makes a little more sense.

I agree for the most part, about 30 million gun owners would be a bit less than 10 percent of the population.
My problem with the whole " some people shouldn't own guns" is this:
The slippery slope of determining who's "crazy" and who isn't.
Guarnteed, those who oppose the second ammendment, are just wating for that legal umbrella to be created so they can hire groups of leftist psychologists to start labeling all those who support the constitution More..
