UK Gun Ban

Another interesting video. I always see other people in other countries bitching in the comments section about the USA and their gun laws. How we'd be better if we banned guns, most of those comments coming from the United Kingdom.

  • Fact is now in the UK if you killed someone who broke into your home by whatever means legally held gun, knife, bat or just a good old beating, you will not be convicted.

  • The difference between the Right to Bear Arms in the US and England is simple.
Under the European model, sovereignty resides first with the government and rights are then granted to the people. This is a hold over in their legal approach from their feudal system and the concept of the “divine right of kings”. It is natural that they still look to their sovereign, now their elected government not their king, to take care of them, much as the feudal lords of old took care of their serfs.

    • @BarrySoetoro

Good words. And we are losing those rights, slowly. Gun control laws violating the 2nd Amendment. And the Constitution Free Zone violating the 4th Amendment.

    • @joe prole mm, but the line between 'right to bare arms' and the 'right to lay down 650 hollow points a minute' is a little blurry. not saying im anti gun, im really not. just saying that (please correct me if im wrong) nowhere in the US bans firearms outright, just certain types of firearms. if im wrong tell me, only googled it.

  • We don't have a 'gun ban' here. Plenty of hunting rifles, shotguns, and target weapons.

    • @Argh it is kinda double standard to say USA to ban the weapons while we have millions of shotguns.. I know a guy who has a shotgun licence with 5 shotguns.

  • Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

  • It's too late for England. Once a nation's gun rights are taken away, you will never get them back.
In the USA we still have a fighting chance as most gun owners (25-35 million of them) realise countries like UK and Australia are the model of what we DON'T want to happen here.
Our rights are like muscles, if not used, they atrophy, grow weaker and disappear. Government is not your friend. All the government ever does is take: our money, our liberties one by one, our Constitutional rights. Y More..

You people really don't get it, do you? Europe isn't the fucking wild west. People can have guns for hunting, just not the war guns.

      Always been that way.

That's the reason why your cops behave like animals, every moron has a gun...

    • @AirborneSouljah sorry you're right. So many amendments getting trampled by Obame and the government these days, i literally am losing track.

    • @pruut that's like saying that putting lions and tigers in a zoo and feeding them every day, makes them tame.

    • @Eva_Destruction I hear you. They say we have our second amendment so we can protect our first. But it goes further than that. Its a shame we've allowed Government to grow so big as to undermine them. Nevertheless we should protect whats left of our Constitution regardless how hopeless sometimes it may seem. And another reminder to Americans that it can happen here, too.

  • It is guaranteed the right to gun ownership. If need be I would have no qualms with using a gun to protect my family without second thought or remorse. We have open carry here in my state and the "cowboy" or "fantasy of violent attack" myth is bullshit. Most do not carry their guns all the time, and we have very little violent crime in my community despite having large percentage of gun ownership. The government looking out for your best interest is also a bunch of bullsh More..

  • It's definitely a bad idea to ban guns and peoples rights to protect their property. Another thing to learn from this video is that things get out of control when bills are passed for years without public influence. I watched a video the other day of an american high school student that said "osama bin laden is the vice president of the united states" and that another girl thought that Canada was another state of the US.. i mean i don't know what it is but people are getting more dumb More..

    • @HerrBrun I blame technology for taking away the focus and the amount of fluoride in our water. It destroys childrens brains during developmental stages. It makes them stupid, yet doesn't have as harmful affects on adults after developmental stages - just to save .6% of each tooth surface - NOT worth it.. conspiracy alert*** How do you dumb down the population to be controllable? start with the new generation. Mess up the kids that don't know any better.

I don't know how else kids can become SO More..

  • Behind bars for protecting you and your property while one of the people who broke into your house got sentenced and released. The whole time this was taken place the upstanding, law abiding citizen who protected himself still sits in jail.

    • @barogers619 In the UK you have the right to kill anyone who poses a threat to your life.

      (a) Defend himself from an attack.

      (b) Prevent an attack on another person, eg R v Rose (1884) 15 Cox 540, where the defendant who had shot dead his father whilst the latter was launching a murderous attack on the defendant's mother, was acquitted of murder on the grounds of self-defence.

      (c) Defend his property.

In addition, s3(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1967 provides that:

    • @Bialetti That's fantastic because our law says that when somebody want to kill you with the real gun, the best is when you defend yourself with the damn knife but if you shoot him down when he's attacking with knife then you will go to jail :) Great law for criminals.

    • @Bialetti Thanks for the info.

My issue here is why did these laws not apply to Tony? Was it because he wasnt being "attacked"? Was it because he killed a minor? What was the justice systems reasoning for imprisoning Mr. Martin?

      Posted Feb-8-2012 By

    • @barogers619 Because he obtained a gun illegally for illegal use. That is the only reason. It was a pre-meditated crime actioned with an illegally obtained and held shotgun.
