UK campuses celebrate 'Tel Aviv week'

Tour organized by UJS, Tel Aviv municipality and Israeli embassy promotes Tel Aviv as holiday destination.
Visitors to various campuses across the UK may have been slightly surprised by the beach-side atmosphere last week. It was all due to Tel Aviv week an event organized by the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) together with the Tel Aviv municipality and the Israeli embassy in London.

The tour visited five British campuses, Leeds, Hull, Nottingham, Aston (Birmingham) and Roehampton (London). During the day the Tel Aviv trailer was parked in prime locations on these campuses and gave away promotional free items that reflected Israel and Tel Aviv, including Israeli snacks and information about the city.

In the evenings, there were club nights in the university cities, which captured the essence of Tel Aviv nightlife.

The tour was a rousing success with the majority of students responding positively to the tour.

Two residents of Tel Aviv accompanied the tour around the UK. One of them an oleh from the UK who now lives in Tel Aviv, Ashley Fairfield said that "British students where shown all about the city and its diversity and were really excited about it, and I was excited by the student reaction."

Noa Yaar, the representative from the Tel Aviv municipality said that, "80% of people that I spoke to had no idea where Tel Aviv was, most of the responses were incredibly positive when I told them that it was in Israel and it was great to focus on the city and not on the conflict."

Charlotte Karp, Communications Director at UJS stated that "The tour was a positive and pro-active demonstration of the fantastic diversity within Israel and especially Tel Aviv. Students around the UK responded very well to being shown all about the city and this was great to see."

  • Surprised the rabid Muslim "students" and their sycophantic, Dhimmi apologist fellow travellers in The UK didn't protest this.

  • Better start pushing for tourism to the apartheid state. What's happening on the other side of the wall though, while those Israelis are enjoying their beach and tan? How about lack of water, electricity, and food.

Oops forgot that point, out of sight, out of mind huh?

It is but you can call me mick because I'm irish. I used the Italian name on some silly mafia game and used the same Email and name for my LL account. Like I said, I'm Irish and you can hurl any slur at me you wish. My people are a noble hard working lot who have contributed immeasurably to this country without complaint. The Irish were the victims of genocide at the hands of the British and were enslaved right next to blacks in the carribean. (that's why blacks have irish nam More..
