Venus Transit Approaches.
The LASCO C3 coronograph aboard the SOHO spacecraft has been watching
the approach of Venus for its last solar transit until 2117. The actual
size of the sun is represented by the white disk.
The transit of
Venus begins June 5, 2012, at about 6 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, or
about 10 p.m. Universal Time. It will last for approximately 6 hours.
