i don't think there were any cries of murder, martyr or messiah over her death. it was well reported, but from my recollection, the consensus was that a rather naive, highly idealistic young woman made a fatal foolish error.
i admire her idealism, although i don't necessarily agree with her views, but i believe she acted in some sort of egotistical delusion that because she was from the US she was somehow above the recriminations being exacted.
just my 6 cents (2 cents adjusted for inflation)
