Actually, I watched it again. This was a "snatch" move. Still a power move, and he just didn't have the speed during the snatch and the leg strength to sink and then lift back up.

I assure you, he did much, much better than I could have done. But being the intellectual, I would devise a mechanical method for sending the weight up rather than trying to lift it with my scrawny muscles.
