History of the Luftwaffe! The History of the German Luftwaffe. The German Luftwaffe was one of the strongest, most doctrinally advanced, and most battle-experienced air forces in the world when World War II started in Europe in September 1939. Officially unveiled in 1935, in violation of the Treaty of Versailles, its purpose was to support Adolf Hitler's "Blitzkrieg" across Europe. The aircraft that were to serve in the Luftwaffe were of a new age and technically superior to that of most other nations in the 1930s. Types like the Junkers Ju 87 Stuka and Messerschmitt Bf 109 came to symbolize German air power.

  • Yep if all that money spent on war had been spent on progress in the countries there would be no destitute starving folk on earth today.

  • Wrong. There will always be destitute people in the world.Thats what makes it all work. billions upon billions given to third world countries over the years, what has been the result?
    A wealthy elite in those countries but absolutely no change in the general populations wealth.
    Do yourself a favour do not send "aid" to third world countries, it goes straight into the pockets of the elite.
