The bus was driving on the Xiyi Freeway from Hangzhou on the morning of May 29th when a piece of iron smashed through the windshield and hit the 48-year old driver. Despite suffering liver lacerations, multiple rib fractures and contusions to the lungs and intestines the driver managed to pull the bus to the side of the road and stop it safely before collapsing. Sadly, the driver later died in the hospital from his injuries.
