The Spike is a family of forth generation ("fire and forget" or "fire, observe and update") anti tank guided missiles, ranging from a max range of 1500m/5,000ft for the smallest of the missiles (spike-SR/Za'atut) and 25km/15 miles for the largest one (spike-NLOS/Tamuz), developed and manufactured by RAFAEL company in Israel.The project began development during the mid 80's and became operational during the early 90's. After a long period of being a top-secret weapon, they have been declassified in the past years and were made available for purchase by foreign armies, which several of have adopted the missile systems.
In past 12 hours, more than 100 rockets has been launched by Islamic terrorist in Gaza on Israeli cities, in addition too several hundreds from last week, terrorizing more than a million Israelis living in those rockets range. Luckily no casualties since a rocket killed 3 people in Kiryat Malaki this weekend, however there were citizens injured and some damage to property.
