The thugs are telling him to say: "Oh Bashar!" instead of "Ya Allah!" or "Oh God!/Oh my God" but he refuses, most likely because he knows they will kill him either way.

Sounds like this guy knows his stuff. Also, the thugs appear to have uniforms and vests on. And, as anyone who pays attention can attest, the rebels are the ones who call out to their god, while the Assad goons habitually attack religious sites and force captured rebels to pledge fealty to Assad, rather than Allah.

If you've got some reason to believe it's propaganda, please share. I don't deny the possibility, but this falls in line with much of what I've seen coming directly out of Syria via upload. If it is all propaganda (which is so unlikely I'd say it isn't possible), then these guys have the best media team I've ever seen. Better than Libya AND the govt, for sure.
