USS Lincoln Carrier Group to Set Sail Monday
The Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group heads to the Persian Gulf Monday with two San Diego-based ships.
The Lincoln arrived late last week from its base in Washington State.
It is joined by the Mobile Bay and Curts, both of which are based in San Diego.
In 2004 the carrier was deployed for several months to help victims of the tsunami.
The ships will depart Monday afternoon. The deployment will last seven months.
