Thanks to Americans like you, Tucson’s Last Stand was a huge success, with the Arizona Daily Star reporting more than 6000 people in attendance! It was one of the biggest political rallies in Arizona history.

It is obvious now, more than ever, that the Tucson Tea Party’s ideas of individual liberty, small government, and a free economy are spreading like wildfire by the day. People are waking up and rejecting the corruption of our government. Judge Andrew Napolitano said it best, “Gatherings like these tell Washington: Stay the hell there and leave our freedoms alone!”
Knowledge of Tucson’s Last Stand was spread by email, talk radio, Facebook, and by simply talking with our neighbors. Through these mediums, we are able to communicate our ideas with one another easily and build a local political community centered on these ideas. Our numbers are growing by the day, and we hope you did not leave the event without meeting a new friend in the cause.
There are many people who deserve all of our thanks for making this event possible. They include our donors both big and small, our power mom coordinators (Jennifer, Jill, and DeAnn), all of the incredible speakers, KNST 790, and the approximately 50 volunteers who gave their time during the event. The initiative, organization, and leadership that they all displayed is truly outstanding. Without them, the Tucson Tea Party would not be possible.
However, the fight did not end on October 10. Tucson’s Last Stand was not a last hoorah; it was a call to action. It was a call to stand up for our city, state, and country. It was a call to stop yelling at the television and get involved in order to make the real change you want to see.
The Tucson City Council elections will take place on November 3, 2009. Early voting has already begun and we must make sure that the corrupt incumbents, Karin Uhlich and Nina Trasoff, are voted out. This is our chance to make that change happen.
The Tucson Tea Party will begin campaigning against the incumbents very soon. We are developing a plan of action to get-out-the-vote and will notify you as soon as possible about how you can help. We will also send you a survey so that you can give us direct feedback about the event and what we should do next.
Again, thank you all so much for attending and donating at Tucson’s Last Stand. Please let us know if you have any comments!
Now, it’s time to stand up and fight for Tucson!
