The Machine that Changed the World - P1(b) Giant Brains

Second half of the first part of the out-of-print and commercially unavailable history of computing originally released in 1991. The series has five parts in total but due to upload size restrictions I'm uploading it in 10 parts.

This series takes a long and comprehensive look back at the history of the computer, going back hundreds of years to the birth of the concepts which would become guiding principles behind the design of modern computers. Ranging from the first machine to "calculate by steam" first envisioned and realized by Charles Babbage through his analytical engine to the beginnings of the Internet era starting at the end of the 1980's.
