1895 Nagant 7 shot revolver 7.62x38mm. Unusual design move the cylinder forward to make a seal between it and the barrel. This makes the Nagant one of the only revolvers suitable for using a suppressor.

  • That revolver took a big part in Russian history. Every Commissar had one.

  • I've thought about buying one of these for a long time. As Bleys link shows you can usually buy them for around $100 on the Curio and Relic market. But, they aren't cheep to shoot with that goofy crimp seating of the bullet, which is pretty unique to the Nagant revolver. Even if it was a safe queen it would be nice to have around as a discussion piece.

The Soviets made 100's of thousands if not millions of these guns up until WW2 before changing over to the Tokarev 7.62 x 25 semi-automatic pis More..

  • I really respect the originality of this revolver, and its cartridge. I actually might get one for display value.

  • I think I saw this gun in the movie The Chekist 1992. It's the story about an executioner who does nothing but shoot people in the back of the head all day long. He was a member of the secret police established by Lenin after the Bolshevik revolution. The movie shows the man going mad from killing people all day long for months at a time. One day one of these guns wore out blew up in the executioner's hand.

  • I would rather as always seen the weapon not refinished unless, it is just going to be a shooter.

If you want to see something strange. Google the round that this revolver takes. It is very strange, especially for the era.

  • Very cool gun. I'm not much of a gun person, but I can definitely respect that awesome work of engineering, especially for being so old.

  • Why the KGB badge? They weren't even formed until 1954.
Don't see what that has to do with this piece.

    • @ommadawn that doesnt mean the KGB didnt use them. this pistol was still in use for years even after world war 2, mostly high ranking officers kept them as side arms
