As TEXAS HOLDEM123 has pointed out in the original post (this is a repost) the round glanced off the tank and took out a parked car.
All explosions and smoke relate to the car except for the fairly late flash where the tank fires at or near the terrorist camera.

Look carefully It was a complete miss. It hit the car beside the tank which blew up spectacularly a couple of seconds later. Some while later the tank fired a round through the smoke.
The worst that happened to the tank was some paint scratches from the debris of the first explosion.

Might have hit the tank, but with thick rounded armor it probably glanced off, destroying the nearby parked car.
The second explosion is the fuel tank in the car exploding I think.
