A camera crew avoids being hit by a matter of inches after Orido Manabu's Toyota 86 loses control and hits a wall during the first round of the D1 GP professional drifting series at the Ebisu Circuit. Two videos are attached - one from a camera on the sidelines, and one from a camera mounted on Manabu's car.

This is why they have you sign so many waivers when you photograph at D1 events in Japan....thankfully this weekend I will be photographing a pro event which at least has solid barriers in place that you can hide behind...the D1 amateur series events here in Japan can be quite scary, they often only use these large foam barriers without a concrete barrier behind it which makes absolutely no sense at all.

@1976CapriII I agree. I can understand a few demonstration or publicity stunt cars as drifters but making an entire fucking sport and series out of drifting is idiotic.
