Qur'an 18:74-81: Killing An INNOCENT Through FEAR?

Quran 18:74-82 seems to open the door to the concept of "honor" killing, making it far more than just an accomplice. If you disagree, check this out:
18:74:
PICKTHAL "So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses) said: What! Hast thou slain an innocent (INNOCENT) soul who hath slain no man? Verily thou hast done a horrid thing."
SHAKIR: "So they went on until, when they met a boy, he slew him. (Musa) said: Have you slain an innocent (INNOCENT) person otherwise than for manslaughter? Certainly you have done an evil thing."
Quran 18:80
PICKTHAL: "And as for the lad, his parents were believers and we feared (FEARED) lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief."
SHAKIR: "And as for the boy, his parents were believers and we feared (FEARED) lest he should make disobedience and ingratitude to come upon them:"

  • let me make this clear. this my friend, is Your opinion and thought on the meaning of the verse and that does Not mean its the way it is in the "islamic world". and as i understand you are trying to demonize this religion and basically push a one sided argument.

    in order to analys these verses, you need to have a lot of information and knowledge about koran and everything else related to it. you cant just pick up a koran and start spitting out "Facts" about a religion!

  • you totally miss understood the verse....its about when GOD sent moses to ZIKRIA....and then zekria performed 3 different acts on which moses questioned him and then he answered all three qustions....one thing he did was repaired a fallen wall....2nd he made a hole in a fisherman's boat....and 3rd he drowned a child....
    and he answered afterwards y he dd that...and whats all behind that....
    my suggestion is without having complete knowledge of the verse and the holy history you should not prop More..

    • The Qur'an needs no interpretation. It is available in many languages, and I have several versions in very plain English.
      The trick is to read the Islamic toilet paper, with the Sira, to put in in chronalogical order.
      Keep in mind, the Sira is Muhammeds, (may his soul burn in hell), biography.
      The surviving, Qur'an, is the product of the next 300 years, and is different than the earlier ones found.
