Retro TV Quincy

This video is part of an ongoing project to build a retrospective TV archive made exclusively for the LL community on my Retro TV channel at

Quincy was the only show from the NBC Tuesday Mystery Movie that was spun off as it's own series. Originally airing from 1976 to 1983. The concept for the show was adapted from the Canadian series Wojeck.

The theme seen here is the complete theme, at times in it's broadcast history the scenes where Quincy seems to be examining someone and it turns out to be a woman in a bikini were sometimes edited out.

Clearly this is the predecessor to shows of today like CSI. Back in the day there were regulations about showing autopsies on TV which have either been ignored or lifted today. You had to rely on Quincy's description of what was going on. Today it's kind of in your face, undoubtedly for the shock value to increase ratings.

The commercial for forensic examination of hair was perfect for this Quincy episode I figured. It is from the broadcast period of course. One last thing too. We must immediately start a campaign to bring back those Burger King uniforms!
