RUSTY KEEBLE---- This shooting took place a year ago and I remember when it
happened and it just as hard to watch it today as it was a year ago. I
post this for several reasons - (1) for my law enforcement brothers out there as a train

ing video and (2) for those who are not to be a cold reminder of what
our men and women in law enforcement and corrections do every day to
ensure we live in a safe community and deserve much more respect, trust,
recognition and resources than they currently get. We need to teach our
kids to respect and look up to our law enforcement like when I was a
kid. This officer was shot right in front of a news camera. The entire
event is caught on camera including shots fired, officer rescue, SWAT
standoff, house fire, helicopter water drops, and more. The suspect,
Kevin Collier, shot his 1-year old daughter, his mother-in-law and then
police showed up (me too). Upon arriving, officers were met with gunfire
from the suspect who had an assault rifle of some sort. Officer Jared
Slocum was struck in the left temple, where it exited the rear of his
skull. The suspect then set the house on fire, before shooting himself.
