I guarantee you some of the people stomping on his head the hardest are also doing disloyal acts. But since this guy was caught and he will be executed anyways then might as well try to make it quick for him and try to make it seem like you dispice him and participate in his murder so that way they would be less likely to suspect of you. This way you have a better chance of going home to your wife and kids while still being a traitor.
