Awesome! My grandfather was part of a flight group of B17s headed to a little place called Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941. They arrived around 8AM only to be mistaken for Japanese bombers. His flight group was shot at by ground forces and the Japanese, decimating the group; after which, he was assigned to the 303rd bombardment group based in Molesworth, England. @Pud_Z Interesting tale , My friend Don Satra was a belly gunner on a B-17 , he was stationed out of Glatton England , and flew many missions over Germany.
One of the first missions he flew was over Dresden.
