  • President Obama is a courageous advocate for the ability of gays to vote for him in November.

    • @john1054 Regardless of what your stance on the matter is, no one can deny your statement's truth. Politics is ugly business.

    • @john1054 ...the evangelical voting block is a lot larger than the gay voting block so no, this is not "clever pandering". He probably lost a lot more than he gained on this one. He was trying to draw the GOP into a life style debate so they looked less interested in the economy than DEMs.

The president can't lose voters he never had.

      Good points, I agree.

While I'm posting, it really pissed me off that he had to pussyfoot around. Should have just came out and said the truth point blank. All he did was up his bullshit points with that wobbling on the fence act.

  • This is a non topic.

Take the Government out of "Marriage" and you wouldn't hear a peep out of Obama and/or the LGBT community.

It's just political pandering 101, folks.

No Politically Conservative Voter I have ever met gives two shits whether gays can get married. They don't care.Let them. That being said, there are more RELIGIOUS Conservatives AND Democrats that say differently.
      Key word being: Religious.
Religious folks from both political spectrum's, hate gays.
In an odd twist of irony, it was the huge turnout of liberal voting Blacks,Asians and Latinos who passed the California Prop 8 California Marriage Protection Act! Gays were shocked whe More..

I don't believe it's about hate. I believe it's about preserving the religious aspect of Marriage. Of which neither our current government nor the LGBT community give a ratz ass about.

They just want the benefits from which the State and/or Government grants them without the religious aspect.

It's all about the money. Not faith. And that's just wrong in my book.

Again. Take the Government out of Marriage and the problem goes away.

    • @Fire37Rescue "Religious folks from both political spectrum's, hate gays."

Huh? If folks believe the scriptures and take a stand on what the definition of marriage is it doesn't necessarily mean it's about hate. Oh sure, some do. just like some folks hate Jews- you know who I mean. (I saw your recent thread with a certain Italian named individual!) My brother is gay and even he is against gay marriage. Now that is weird. He feels gays should have something completely different to dist More..

    • @Fire37Rescue LOL If you must. I just find it interesting the timing of all these social issues "war on women", "taking away contraception", "Sheriff Joe is profiling illegals", "Obama is for gay marriage". Nice distraction from his for shit economic policies and unemployment numbers. I think most folks are wise enough to see it for what it is.

  • I dont know why anyone would be worried about gay couples wanting legal rights in a union/marriage, whatever you want to call it.

Two consensual people who want to be recognised legally as a couple has no bearing on how your life will be.

I think you are putting far too many or your own personal feelings on Gay unions.

  • So he's for same sex marriage and falls back on "well the states should decide for themselves... blah blah." Yet when a state decides for itself that medicinal marijuana is beneficial, he wastes billions of tax dollars by sending in the DEA and superseding the will of the People.

Fuck Obama. I haven't seen any change in this country unless you count the huge political divisiveness he's created; the ballooning of the welfare state to milk votes off the downtrodden and the complete lac More..

  • Barry has one agenda and one agenda only , and that is to get re-elected. He knows he cannot get the middle class Christian working class vote “those people are to smart” . So he goes after the weaker part of the population and the special interest groups. Examples : Unions , blacks , GAY’S , socialist , community organizers , Hollywood elitist type , wall street “yes wall street” , Mexicans , Jews “yes Jews’” and Liberals.

  • Once gay marriage is legal in the U.S., the left will force feed the gay agenda in our schools even more so. I understand why they don't teach Creationism in the public schools, because that is a belief not shared by all. At the same time alternative lifestyles shouldn't be taught either for the same reason. But the lefts' main agenda is not education, but indoctrination.

Gay Agenda? You mean the fact that some people are gay? In 30 years, statements like that will sound as backwards as someone 100 years ago talking about a black agenda.

      Blacks have an agenda.
Black Congressional Caucus,NAACP,ethnicmajority.com, California Legislative Black Caucus,Black Leadership Forum,
      Georgia Legislative Black Caucus,
      Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus,
      Oklahoma Legislative Black Caucus,
South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus and believe it or not...there's even a blog and website called the http://blackagendareport.com!!!

What were you saying again about Backwards 100 years ago talking?
