The Canadian Governments Online Spying Bill
While over 135,000 Canadians have voiced their concerns about the government’s online spying bill, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews is continuing his irresponsible PR campaign that suggests that warrant-less collection of our private data is “on par with the phone book.” This info-graphic shows just how far that is from the truth. Share it around today to spread the word about how invasive and excessive the online spying bill truly will be. Speak out at: http://openmedia.ca/standwithus

Supreme Leader Stephen Harper (what he likes to be called) doesn't care about the voice of the canadian people ... he's a leader with no boundaries , and cares little about our privacy ... he's selling the canadian people out ... canada will no longer be a beacon to economic and social justice once stepher harper has his way , his padding of the lives for the baby boomers is at the expense of the canadian youth..

@Akolade Harper's been playing the long game for a while, gradually shutting down/cutting programs that don't fit with his ideology, refocusing the economy towards resource extraction (mainly in Alberta) and encouraging divisions politically and regionally.

Toews is a massive hypocrite on every level - he claims that the omnibus crime bill was necessary when there has been so little crime that prisons are being closed, and now continues to prattle on about how warrantless spying and data collection are needed when he was so offended that someone collected data (on his affair and divorce) and made that public.

when they start censoring the internet in the USA and making online activity illegal like in China - that's when i quit. I can use that $100 a month for my other hobby, collecting precious metals (some call it ammo)

@Eva_Destruction
I've just moved to Shanghai from Auckland and online activity is not illegal here. Some sites are blocked but nothing that I care about or use.
I believe the US government is far more dangerous than any other government on Earth especially in the last 10 years or so.

I can understand why Canadian Security services need to monitor the internet. They have to identify the Muslim Jihadist, Commie Radicals, and potheads destroying the continent, and posing a real and immenente threat to .....everybody else.

This is already being done on a large scale. Apparently Canada is just getting caught up with the REST of the world's oppressive regimes.

Uh huh, and when one lives in a condo where not everyone encrypts their wireless gateway and someone hitches a ride on their network, that authenticating IP address thingie goes out the window. Same goes for VPNs at the airport. It's all a pile of brainless garbage.
Remember the interwebs is made up of a bunch of tubes. I have to admit that the protocol used for mail is incredibly simple (SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) as they didn't have dickheads when it was created so nothing is encr More..
