CNN -- A Brazilian man stole a single-engine plane and crashed it into the parking lot of a shopping mall, killing himself and his 5-year-old child, Goiania police said Friday.
Kleber Barbosa da Silva pushed the pilot out of a rented plane just before takeoff and later slammed it into several cars parked at a shopping mall in Goiania, in the Brazilian state of Goiás, said Chief Executive Officer Jorge Moreira.
Police Officer Sergio Katayama, who communicated with Barbosa just prior to the crash, said the man seemed distressed.
"When I told him we could help him, he said, 'I am going to do something even worse than I already did,'" Katayama said.
CNN could not immediately get additional comment from police.

Happened in my town... I saw the plane in the sky, followed by the police helicopter. Poor little girl.

Those simulators are plenty to teach a person to fly. There are kids getting in to the air-force already knowing the controls in an F-16 cockpit, already knowing how to fly. Some of the PC simulators come with huge elaborate manuals, they get very technical.
Navigating and landing is the hard part. Flying is easy.
