  • When I joined up in 1987 the SA80 had only just come into service & it was a bag of shit that repeatedly jammed & literally fell apart in your hands. Only after ALL the weapons were recalled & refitted by HK after the first gulf war did they finaly become the decent weapon they are now. Its high muzle velocity & lighter round, (in comparison to the old 7.62 SLR)make it highly effective against body armour, but for sheer stopping power I would take a 7.62 any day.
