In his numerous fund-raising and policy speeches around the country these days, President Obama often bemoans the difficult economic times and uncertainties afflicting millions of Americans, including the nearly 14 million still seeking work unsuccessfully.

The Democrat argues that his administration needs more time to straighten out the economic mess left by somebody else, who's been gone almost 900 days now.

But good news this morning: The challenging Obama era and 9.1% national unemployment rate do not include the 454 people now helping President Obama do presidential things.

This crowd is being paid a total of $37,121,463 this year. That's up seven staff members and nearly $4 million from 2008, the last year of George W. B

  • You'd have to pay me a hell of a lot more than $81k to work for Obama.

And somehow, those seven WH staff members bumped the payroll by some $4,000,000 over W's last year in office.

For those of you who are bad at math, that's over half a million on average for each new staffer. Damn good work if you can get it.

Hell, yeah. But most of the white house staff is taking a pay cut working there. When the administration changes hands, a good number of them will get into lobbying congress...which is really good money. Or, they might go back to their corporate jobs, stealing money from working class people while paying lobbyists to change the rules to make it easier to steal.
