It happened Sunday about 5 miles north of the border. According to Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada the agents were in Bellota Canyon. He says three or four men began firing at the agents. The agents returned fire, but don't believe any of the armed men were injured.
Sheriff Estrada tells News 4 Border Patrol sent it's special response team to the area but the shooters have not been found.
