GOODYEAR, AZ - Police say a Valley elementary school teacher was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly having images depicting child molestation.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said 21-year-old Christopher Perez is a teacher at Mable Padgett Elementary School in Goodyear and specializes in teaching autistic children.

In January, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force started an investigation involving images depicting child molestation being shared over the Internet, Martos said.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and arrested Perez around 8:30 a.m. at his home in Goodyear, he said.

Martos said detectives collected multiple images depicting child molestation of children believed to be under the age of 10.

During an interview with Perez, he admitted to having video and images of children involved in acts of molestation, Martos said.
