This week's long holiday in China drew out millions of visitors to tourist spots around the country. Vacationing turned sour though for more than ten thousand tourists to Huashan Mountain in China's northwest Shaanxi province. They became trapped on Tuesday, and many had to trek
for miles to make it out.

The cold and slippery conditions made the exit difficult for some. On Tuesday evening, calls for help began emerging on China's microblog. This post says: "There are a lot of elderly and children, there are no street lights, it's very cold, come and save them."

Others forwarded the calls for help.
