June 18 -- A Greek police sergeant, the station chief and two other officers from an Athens' police station have been suspended, after a video showing two detainees being abused at the station was broadcast on Greek television stations.

The incident occurred a year ago. The video was posted on the Internet and then picked up by all Greek TV stations over the weekend.

In the video the sergeant is seen slapping and kicking the two men and smacking them with a rod and ordering the men to repeatedly strike each other and call each other's names.

It is not clear who was filming the video but the footage seems to be from a mobile phone.
