At least three Detroit Firefighters were injured when the house they were in exploded and collapsed on them. Firefighters had responded to report of a fire in the rear of a vacant dwelling on Lamont Street, an area that has seen nearly a dozen suspicious fires in the last week alone. While inside the house exploded, shattering the walls and windows and causing the roof to collapse. Other firefighters arriving on scene pulled the men from the wreckage and administered first aid until paramedics arrived. On arrival, one of the three paramedic rigs requested broke down, and one of the injured firefighters was transported to the hospital in a squad truck. Additional units were called in to fight the blaze, which had spread to nearby homes. The condition of the injured firefighters is not known at this time.
