A nine-year-old boy arrived at school on Monday morning and told teachers that his father had killed his mother and sister.

The boy then led police officers to his home, less than a mile from the school, where they found the bodies of a woman and a girl as well as a man covered in blood and an unharmed 4-year-old boy.

Authorities believe the boy was in a state of shock when he arrived at Mabel Hoggard Elementary School near Washington Avenue in Las Vegas shortly before 9am.

"Police said the five people belong to a single family. The man was led away from the house in handcuffs and held for questioning while police investigated the apparent double slaying.
Although he has not been officially identified by authorities, neighbours told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he is Arturo Martinez, a father and husband who works as an electrician."

  • "Police originally blocked the area around the single-story stucco home to await a warrant to enter and retrieve the bodies."

I gotta rant: Question: How did they know there were only bodies inside, not injured people? Answer: Obviously a police officer entered the home. Question: After someone had entered the home and discovered bodies, why the HELL did the cops have to wait for a warrant to go back into the house?

The courts (lawyers) have got this country twisted up in knots More..

Doesn't make sense. Why would they need a warrant to enter a crime scene.
After they confirmed it was a murder scene, makes even less sense.

    • @Ruffus They do it all the time on reality cop shows... Some lawyer got someone off on a technicality I guess - and logic has NOTHING to do with the current state of the law...

Another example of victims losing their right's & criminals getting more right's.
      Fucking disgusting.

    • @Ally_Gator Just a thought that once the child told school about what happened there would have been sufficeint reason to enter the home without a warrant.

    • @LucyAgnes And clearly someone DID and found no one alive. But after finding no one alive why did they have to wait for a warrant to start investigating the murders? Boggles the mind...

  • At the age of 9 and pre 911 services, I knew how to dail 0 for help. I also knew to go to the neighbors house for help. How he kept his composure and go to school is thought provoking to me.
