  • Sloop you old dog, you've done it again, brilliant post, geeeze that is dury at its worst, shit I have fout bush fires in Africa and they were minute compared to this, the guy filming this had "BIG BALLS" to stand his ground and shoot footage, at that speed it's closing in there's just no chance of running, I trust he had a fire storm shelter to retreat to, the heat must be intense as the noise was terrifying, poor wild animals and a lot of folk just didn't stand a chance, Please urg t More..

  • No ofeence to your brother dude, but seriously... What the hell was he thinking? When that wall of flames went up and you could hear the roar, and all the wind rushing towards the fire cause of the heat, how did he not figure to get the hell out? Unless as per earlier post he had a bunker or something?

Gives you an idea of how fast these f*ckers moved though. That went from a distant fire line to 4 storey flames in less than a minute. Scary as hell. Chers for the upload.

  • I found a bit more info on this guy. He had cut trees away to about 50 meters in front and 100 meters in back of his place. Had dug a bunker just in case something like this should happen and went down into it and survived the inferno and his house survived as well.

    • his wife naged and naged him to build that thing and he was allways complaining to her about how much the bunker cost to build...thanks to that nagging wife he and his family are now alive n well.

  • It's amazing that Australian Councils in these areas have fined residents AU$50,000 for knocking down trees around their home to protect their properties leading up to these fires. The Australian Government and Councils have had their heads buried in the sand for far too long. And they continue to do so. They will not allow farmers to use trees that have been cut down that are lying on roadsides to be used for their own firewood and the like. The Government, Councils and Environmentalists here a More..

    • The blame game for the politicians that the special services was getting intence. Who could have done more, who didn't do enough etc.

With arson, they have to prove a few things not entirely related because it is a sensless act with no material gain so the suspects can plea insanity, they find it hard to pin intent (murder). Usually they will bust them for something else that substantiates the arson causing death charges. In one case of the recent australian fires they reported his charges as More..

  • This is the downside to having to much vegetation. If we can cut down all the trees then there would be nothing to burn, and the fire would die down.

Thats why you dont get wild fires in the Sahara.
