Had that happen to me twice on a Volunteer Fire Dept, left the nossle of the hose too close to the end of the engine and when it fell off the momentum unraveled a whole bed of hose. Rest of the guys took a break and watched me rebed 200 feet+ of hose. d0h moment.

Nobody will get fired. Shit happens. Not the first time someone had LDH hanging off the hose bed and won't be the last. Probably knuckled it wrong folding it up there. It's really kind of an art form.But yeah, that section of LDH is toast.

-I dumped a crosslay going around a corner once, saw the pipe flip off in the mirror and got the rig stopped just as the last section played out so it didn't drag. But yea it happens.

Once in a while I will see a rope dragging from a truck,It is fun trying to get your wheels on it. Usually I will get them at a red light and the rope just breaks :(

@the wedge I've driven off with a strap dragging and I'd rather someone like you snap it off than the alternative. Those things can whip around in strange ways at speed and I can easily afford to replace them rather than pay for damages to whatever they hit.

Obviously mechanics and physics isn't your thing. You could tie any type of rope to any vehicle and unless there was a hook on it or something there is no way you could get that around a tie rod. Getting tangled in the wheel and damaging a brake line would have been a better argument.squid.
